Write for us

We welcome thoughtful pitches and contributions about the ordinary decisions, skills, journeys, and technologies that make up life around cars. Proposals should suit general readers and offer a clear, lasting takeaway rather than rely on hype or specialist jargon.

Subjects that fit

Ideas may cover car ownership, road skills, travel planning, vehicle technology, or driving culture. We are especially interested in explainers that make an unfamiliar feature easier to understand, practical guides that help readers plan a task, and fresh ways to examine a familiar part of motoring.

What to include in a pitch

Tell us the proposed subject, the main question the story will answer, who would find it useful, and why the subject merits a clear explanation. A short outline and a note about relevant experience with the topic can help us assess the idea. Do not include confidential material or claims that cannot be substantiated.

Send a proposal

Send pitches and draft proposals through the Contact page, choosing the editorial question option and making clear that your message is a submission idea. We review proposals for fit and clarity; sending an idea does not guarantee publication. Please do not submit material that depends on fabricated facts, hidden promotional intent, or unsafe driving demonstrations.
